This Wednesday, we will be having Scouts at 7:00.

The 4 Eagle candidates have an Emergency Preparedness meeting, and the younger Scouts will have another activity planned.

Also, remember that we have Stake Youth Conference on Sat., May 30.

Ages 14-18 will be involved. Check in at the Stake Center at 7:30 a.m.

Bring your permission slip, sunscreen, water bottle, and small gardening tools. Wear good shoes (not flip flops) as well.

Description

Participate in a live, worldwide activity on May 12, 2015, featuring a discussion with Elder David A. Bednar of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles and his wife, Susan. Youth around the world will be able to ask Elder and Sister Bednar questions before and during the event. All youth are invited to participate and are encouraged to invite their friends and family to join in this experience.
Youth can submit questions before the event by commenting below. They can also send questions during the event on this page, Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram using #LDSface2face. As you help youth prepare their questions, invite them to seek the guidance of the Holy Ghost. Consider this thought: If you had only one chance to ask an Apostle and his wife a question, what would it be?

HOW CAN WE PARTICIPATE?

The event will be streamed live on May 12, 2015, at 6:00 p.m. MDT. Youth can join the conversation on this page, the Mormon Channel YouTube site, and the LDS Youth Facebook page. This event could be a Mutual activity. Youth could also participate with their friends or family at home.

HOW CAN WE WATCH THE EVENT AFTER IT IS OVER?

If you are not able to participate in the live event, you can view it anytime on this page or on the LDS Youth Facebook page.

Re: Eagle project status/emergency preparedness

Hi everyone!

Tonight is a big evening to keep people progressing toward Eagle!

I have a work commitment in Provo, so Bryce and Matt will lead the four boys in the next steps.

If they have not completed the steps in my email from 4-22 (below) that is priority! I hope those occurred last week (initial paperwork, signatures, etc.).

Tonight, the next steps will be different for each young man. Ideally, they will outline how they need others' help and how they will ask for this help/delegate to others so they continue to acquire leadership skills. to reiterate, getting an Eagle is not just about finishing the project. It is helping the young men acquire the leadership skills to lead others toward a common goal. So, in an ideal world, they spend their time figuring out what steps are needed to see success and how they can get others involved in these steps.

We are excited to keep things moving along!

Pat, if you have time, you may want to go up tonight and help mentor in this process/listen in as well.

Subject: Eagle project status/emergency preparedness

Hi everyone!

We met tonight to continue our conversation around the Emergency Preparedness Fair on 6-6.

We had Ben and Caden in attendance. Due to prior commitments or other activities, we were missing Jensen and Joe.

Tonight, we reviewed and filled out pages 6, 8, 9, 10 of this document:

You will notice that on the bottom of page 10, 4 signatures are required:

Unit Leader: Matt Lingwall
Unit Cmte Approval: Don Borg
Beneficiary Approval: Steve Walker or Pat Bell (representing the ward)
Council/District Approval: Jason Rasmussen (Stake YM President or one of his counselors as assigned)

These 4 signatures need to be obtained BEFORE any actual work should be started (in other words, they need to be signed off as soon as possible; this week is ideal).

All of their contact information is in LDS Tools or via lds.org.

Both Ben and Caden still need a signature from Steve/Pat and Jason. We got the other two tonight.
Ben called Pres. Rasmussen and has a meeting with him this Sunday about 4:00 at the stake offices. Caden must still call him to secure this appt.

Both Ben and Caden have a strong plan and steps moving forward. Parents, please review this with them so you know next steps and how you can assist and how others can help as well. As leaders, we will help guide this but it is not possible without your help and persistence as well.

Jensen and Joe, to stay on track, I would suggest you do this week what we did tonight and get the signatures asap. That way everyone is pacing at a good cadence.

Thanks everyone!

Subject: Reminder: Stake Youth Conference forms due tomorrow

Hi everyone!

This is a reminder that forms for Stake Youth Conference were handed out to everyone last Sunday to all the youth. We do need them back by tomorrow to hand in to the stake.

Stake Youth Conference will be held on May 30 (Saturday).

We made sure forms were passed out to both the YM and YW age 14 and up.

As a reminder the youth MUST live in our Stake boundaries in order to attend. At the link below, please find a copy of the registration form just in case you need additional copies.

We will be having a meeting this Sunday, April 26th at 4:15 with the youth council reps and Stake leaders.

At this meeting, we will receive additional details about the events scheduled. We were asked to bring the registration forms with us to this meeting. Leaders, please remember we need registration forms for both youth and adults!

Jensen, my son, sits on the youth council. From what I have heard, the youth are working hard on planning the events for our one day stake youth conference and they have some really great things in the works; it should be an amazing day!

Again, the date is SATURDAY, MAY 30th.  We will begin our day at 7:30am!

Thanks!

Young Men update (4-22-2015)

Hi everyone!

A quick update on YM.

-Wednesday (tonight) activity:
We have Scouts this evening. The older young men will be continuing the discussion we had in the meeting after church about Eagle projects for the Emergency Preparedness Fair this June. It will require the assistance of all the young men, and we will pull in the teachers and deacons at an appropriate time in the near future.

All other young men will continue working on merit badge/rank advancement activities.

-Stake Youth Conference
This will take place on Sat., 5-30. The young men all received a handout on Sunday that serves as a permission slip. We need to get these signed and back to us by THIS SUNDAY. Please remind your young man to get this to you asap and return it to us on Sunday.

Thanks again for your support!
